“Boundaries are about maintaining our bodily integrity and the relational choices we make to do that.”
Turning to the Body: embodied boundaries
Do you find it hard to center in your values when others around you feel differently?
Are you feeling the pressure of being near family during the holidays in this political moment?
Has it been hard to say no?
Boundaries offer us the ability to recognize our physical, emotional and energetic needs and offer us a way to take action to meet those needs. Often, we were taught in our families, institutions such as school, church or by the media to override these needs. This can pull us out of alignment with our values.
The way we bring our bodies + needs into more alignment is through practice. Our boundaries cannot just come from our intellectual understanding but must also include our bodies. When we have more embodied boundaries we are able to take action or speak in ways that align with our inherent needs and our values.
This workshop is an introduction to somatic practice. It’s created both for people who are brand new to somatics and for those returning to deepen their practice.
During the workshop we will:
cover core somatic concepts,
explore an embodied sense of boundaries
and teach foundational practices that you can bring to your daily life.
No prior somatic or embodiment experience required.
What does the body have to say?
