Why change?

…because we already always are.

Let’s do it on purpose.

1:1 Somatic Coaching

Somatic coaching is a body-based form of coaching. I partner with you to discover more of what you long for, and be in intentional practice to support you to embody that change.

Our body holds our histories and has been shaped by our experiences and the world around us. We often “make moves” out of habit or reaction rather than from a place of choiceful purpose.

Working with the body allows us to move beyond thinking the change we want, and toward actually practicing and embodying the change we want in a lasting way. We work with the body as a source of wisdom and as a site of possibility.

Somatic coaching supports us to grow our capacity to become more present to our emotions and feeling selves. This allows for more choice and intention as we navigate the pressures that life in the world will bring.

Less fixing and more discovering.

Think about the coach as a “fire tender” who tends to what is alive and moving in you.

“All that you touch you change. All that you change changes you. The only lasting truth is change. God is change.”

— Octavia Butler, Parable of the Sower

COACHING

in-person & virtual

I offer 6-session or 10-session packages.

Ten sessions are recommended for most clients to move through a full process together. This will also be most supportive if you are brand new to somatics. Smaller packages are geared for people who have an established somatic practice or have an established declaration.

FAQs

  • Each session is 1 hour, allowing time for us to drop into the body and work toward your goals. We will use conversation to partner together on the path, and we will center the ‘felt sense’ of what your body is experiencing as we go. We will work with the body to move toward what you long for, often incorporating somatic practices along the way.

  • I offer 6 and 10 session packages. If you are new to somatics I recommend starting with 10 sessions to support you as you develop more somatic awareness. I utilize smaller packages for people who are already in a somatic practice and are arriving with a working sense of a declaration.

  • Soma, in the lineage of my training, refers to the living organism in its wholeness. There is not a division of mind, body, spirit, but an integration of these parts of our being in the way that we move and exist in the world. To be in practice with this (somatics) is to, in part, recover the integration of these parts of oursevles.

  • Our sessions will support you in developing more somatic awareness and making choices about what you want to practice in order to move toward what you long for. You will be invited to explore those practices at your own pace and in your own way between sessions. In order to support our nervous system in transitioning to new ways of being, we practice at the level of the tissues (and not just think about the change we want).

When I reached out to Lucy, I wasn't even sure what the problem was. I just knew I was overwhelmed by the challenges of my organizing work. Lucy helped me identify where these difficulties lived in my own body and taught me tools for noticing them, responding to them, even using them like resources. She tailored her coaching to my needs and creatively adapted somatics techniques to the virtual format. Lucy consistently intuits the right questions to ask or exercises to use. Over a period of months, I showed up differently to the most difficult working relationships I have, and they became more functional. The Executive Director of my workplace even noticed my improved effectiveness and asked me what had changed. I told him: somatics coaching. People who are looking for a new way to approach conflict and are open to personal growth should ask Lucy for a session.

Working with Lucy was a truly soulful journey that opened up new doors and pathways in myself I didn’t know existed. As someone who is pretty out of touch with my body, Lucy’s gentle guidance, deep attunement, and body-based practices were a revelation for me. This was unlike any coaching I have ever experienced, and I’m carrying this new access to the wisdom of my body forward for life. I highly recommend that anyone considering working with Lucy takes the leap - you won’t regret it!

Claire Williams, Executive Coach

When I first became aware of somatics, I knew I wanted to learn more about it. I must admit, I was hesitant to commit to ten sessions. I began to see ‘layers being pulled back’ internally from the centering practices that Lucy was gradually introducing. She didn’t show up at the sessions with a ‘one size fits all’ approach. She is able to extract what one truly cares about. What Lucy provided for me was truly a holistic approach which has informed me for how I want to show up in the world. Thank you, Lucy!
