Turning to the Body: an intro to somatic practice

Do you find it hard to find grounding amidst the pressures and demands of life?

The intensity of the political landscape is demanding more of us, individually and collectively. We are hearing from many people that they’re feeling powerless, overwhelmed, and confused. Many of us are feeling pulled in many directions trying to put out the quickly multiplying fires and are struggling to take skillful action. Our nervous systems are flooded with information daily and it's taking a toll. As the pressure builds, you might find yourself falling into similar patterns that keep you from living in alignment with your deepest values.

We find ourselves in unprecedented times facing rapidly changing climate on our earth, deeply divisive political climate, and an onslaught of media cycles. All on top of our day-to-day lives, work commitments and relationships.

It can lead to waves of overwhelm and numbing. How do we find stability and grounding when the ground seems to be shifting often and quickly? How do we decide where to put our attention? Let’s align our “yes’” or “no’s” with what we care about and want in our lives!

Our bodies are a gift and a key. They hold deep wisdom, memory, history and can offer both a source grounding and healing.

Come to this introductory workshop to somatic practice and learn ways to find grounding and listen to the wisdom from your body. We will practice centering inside of chaos to support us to take skillful action about what we care about and move more deeply toward what we long for in our personal lives and the world. We will offer some theory, practice and space to connect. No prior somatic or embodiment experience required.

What does the body have to say?
